Frocktober Day 8: The catching up with everything post and who wants $100?

Can I tell you the hardest part of Frocktober for me right now?

It's the selfies.

Having to get a photo of myself in the dress is hard work. I must look into an app that allows me to do a self timer image.

But rest assured Immy and I have completed a full week donned in dresses each day. Each very very busy day.

That's the other problem of course, that life doesn't always allow for time to blog.  But I do have another lady bits cancer fact for you:

Did you know that 30% of all Cancers are preventable. That's a lot. The Cancer Council has a nifty, swanky looking page that shows you very easily some steps to take to reduce your chances of cancer. It states that smoking actually affects your ovaries and leads to ovarian cancer...so cut out the fags, please.

These are the other five simple steps to help prevention, rather than cure.

Over the weekend we finished the school holidays with another weekend away to the country to attend the country show. We love the country show, it is so much cheaper than the shows in the city, there are no crowds, no lining up, and you get to hold the baby animals for about three hours if that is what you want to do.

I was also asked by the team at Wayfair.com.au if there was anything I liked on their homewares website. It took me ages to get back to them because every time I got on to the website I found so many things that I liked.

Eventually I decided to join the hipsters with a new cutlery set, it even comes in a great wooden box so that I can keep it neatly and only bring it out when we have guests - which hasn't been often enough lately.

Wayfair have also given me ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS to be given to one of my readers.

Is there something you want from the Wayfair website? They have furniture for inside and out, for every room of the house, big stuff and small stuff, and it all gets delivered to the door.

Simply click on the photo and come back and tell me which item you would add to your wish list and why, the comment that entertains me the most will win $100 to spend at Wayfair.

Comments are open until 18 October 2013.

For the love of all things nutty, please leave me an email address to contact you if you do not have one attached to your profile. If the winner does not return my messages or claim the prize in 3 days a new winner will be announced.

  2. It would be really easy to choose so many things from the Wayfair site that are fun and funky, that would look great in our new apartment… something like the little testpage wall clock, or a giant cat tree to make the cats transition to the new place a little easier, or perhaps of the awesome bits and pieces that I could spend hours looking at but lets be realistic here and look at getting something we actually need, like a bed!. In the decision to 'downsize' (read: midlife crisis hitting early!) we have generously allocated the 2 major bedrooms for the kids. It seemed like a practical thing to do knowing that they will spend much more time in their bedrooms that we will, ideally sleeping or doing homework but realistically just hanging out with friends or procrastinating. The third bedroom is really on the small side, so small in fact that our bed won't fit in it :-( Unless I can find a bed to fit in the smallest bedroom known to man, it will be camping out on the floor for us.

  3. My husband needs an extendable shaving mirror as seen in http://www.wayfair.com.au/Extending-Arm-Shaving-Mirror-OST1059.html And with the amount coming in under $100 I can be justified in looking at other things too...:)

  5. I am struggling with the selfies for #Frocktober too! I feel like a bit of an idiot, I am not co-ordinated enough to take a pic of myself. Nevermind-it is all for a good cause. Best of luck with your giveaway!

  6. What phone do you have? My phone has a self timer on it, and I've used that for selfies many times, but yes I can understand how frustrating it is.
Alternative you could ask Little Miss to take it for you.

  7. Ooh, I have been eyeing off these table lamps at Wayfair http://www.wayfair.com.au/Tripod-Table-Lamp-with-Wire-Cage-Light-Shade-FSV1023.html
to match with our new bedspread. I love that they are retro looking and will give an ambient light for romance in the bedroom.....

  8. What have you done to me? I innocently popped onto the website and have come back half and hour later to tell you I CAN'T CHOOSE A FAVOURITE. There are too many things. I will be there again as they stock everything I need to replicate my Pin-porn I mean Pin boards for the terrifying renovation we are about to undertake, all at reasonable prices. BUT DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE ME TO MAKE A DECISION? Hence no favourite, yet. I shake my fist at you and shout BAH! (Note to self- do not do this at the judge of the competition- it probably voids your entry) but also say THANK YOU because the site is awesome. Ahem. As you were.

  9. So many beautiful things to choose from, but I can totally picture myself directing traffic - the family - as I stand behind the Victoria Range Lecturn notes in hand and all. I am just completely struck with this image.

  17. You know I promised my aunt, when we got married 8 years ago, that I would use her gift money to buy a cutlery set and I never did. So that is what I would buy. And it would be the s+ cutlery set in blue that I would get cause it looks fun and funky and would probably make my MIL raise her eyebrows. And that's always fun :)

  18. My tiny little unit is crying out for the Kyoto Dining Set. I would like to have guests over for dinner without having to sit on the floor like an indoor picnic!

  19. I love the debutant polished cutlery set, it comes in a set of rainbow coloured cutlery, which would be fantastic! I am not a good cook, so even when I serve up boring, ordinary looking food to the kids, hopefully?? They would see the rainbow cutlery and be taken up with the magic of it all and want to eat! (or it could just cheer me up when I eat my boring food which is probably more likely)!!

  20. We'd have to buy a Tidybooks bookcase - I've been looking for something just like it! Miss 2 loves our reading time each night, but before we can settle down to read, EVERY SINGLE BOOK must be removed from the shelf and spread on the floor so she can review all the covers and make her choice. The Tidybook keeps all the covers facing outwards, so Lolly can choose her book without creating clean up for me afterwards!

  22. I've always wanted one of these http://www.wayfair.com.au/Cmigoni-Chandelier-FIO1843.html disco balls but seriously have no were to hang it - our ceilings are dwarf height and I am not Snow White so it would never get dusted or shined.
Instead I'd laze about in this http://www.wayfair.com.au/Padded-Deluxe-Hammock-Chair-TRP1012.html

  28. Obviously I went straight to the kitchenware section and TOTALLY FELL IN LOVE. Pretty much anything there would make me happy.
I think I'll have to do Frocktober next year - it will be a lovely excuse to shop for a few more dresses and wear a few more of the ones I have. It will also be a good excuse to get out of the house and out of my customary office attire of ancient gym shorts and a far-too-revealing-for-public tank top :)

  30. There are so many gorgeous homeware items, I would have a field day with $100 on this gorgeous site! But I have to say, the item that most caught my eye was this - http://www.wayfair.com.au/Sniffer-Dog-T-Shirt-DBY1022.html
I have two gorgeous rescue dogs, and one of them is very people-focused and loves to go sniffing right up to people on our walks, as much as we try to stop her! Most people love her but some are a bit affronted by how forward she is (she'll stick her snout in shopping bags!!!) so I wonder if this would change their reactions?!

Thanks for the chance, wonderful prize! x

  31. I love their cushion selection, I could add more cushions to our collection, without hubby noticing, if they come in the mail while he's at work, he'll never know! "That cushion, no it's not new".

  32. Would love to buy the Modern Danish 1 Door Small Entertainment Unit Raki - so retro and gorgeous and by far much more preferable than the makeshift stand we have... two iceboxes together make for an interesting furniture style... oh dear! Thank you so much for the chance :) xx

  33. We've been in our home for 15 years now and STILL have a bare bulb in our dining room, simply because we can't agree (hubby likes plain, boring lights). I love the black Fiorelli chandelier, I can imagine hubby's outraged expression if I just said "I bought a chandelier, yes Michael, I bought a chandelier".

  34. I'd like a new dinnerware set, not exactly sure which one I'd choose because there's too many choices, but we desperately need one after another plate got broken and we had to serve bacon, eggs and toast to a visitor in bowls. Let me tell you, it is difficult to eat those items out of a bowl.
