It’s white shirt day at work. I
thought about it overnight, which shirt am I going to wear? It's silly to think
about as I only have one. It's new, but it's linen. I like it, but get the feeling
when I wear it that I look like Prue and Trude.
Matched with my sensible shoes I
look like a grandma.
My poor fashion options make me stressed packing
school lunchboxes.
I add an elk necklace and
instantly feel better.
At work
in my sensible shoes and linen shirt, it’s my job to share details about
Ovarian Cancer.
A little house keeping:
It is day one of the Blog in May project and I am thrilled to have had such lovely comments and people saying they too will be involved. A huge thank you to Kelly Exeter from Swish Design who has designed a blog button and image for us all to use. Please feel free to use this in your posts or side bars if you want to. I will add it to my side bar to make it easy to find the list each day, feel free to do the same.
All linked up and all! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great cause, although I would struggle as I can't have white clothes - I'd like to say that's because of the kids, but it's really due to my own messiness! ;) Thanks for the linky, too.
ReplyDeleteGreat way to start! 100 word challenge, love it. I didn't know about your blog every day in May challenge, sorry - sounds great! I know it's against the point of the exercise, but can I participate some days depending on when I actually can?
ReplyDeleteOf course! One day or 31, there are no rules in this project. And I only decided to do it yesterday, so it's pretty short notice.
DeleteI'm in! May is going to be an exciting month I think, lots of things going on, lots of things to talk about. I'm excited.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try to incorporate as many as your 'set' themes as possible.
Thanks Claire for creating, sharing and motivating.
I just want to add, that I've done this post now, so I've added my link to it.
DeleteCan I just say, describing your day in 100 words is harder than you think. I could have said so much more, but alas, that was not the task.
Oooh, I don't know how I did it, but I managed to link up - so sorry if I did it wrong - got a bit freaked out for a minute with all the technical stuff - lol. Anyway, thanks for a great challenge and I'm going to do my best to join in every day - how exciting :)
ReplyDeleteEasy peasy - you're an IT whiz now too.
DeleteI would feel instantly better in that necklace, too! x
ReplyDeleteCan't make the link happen. No idea why not!! Boo to that.
ReplyDeleteMine is http://www.igiveyoutheverbs.com/2014/05/01/blogging-every-day-in-may-challenge-day-1/
ReplyDelete100 words - loved completing the first day of this challenge! Thanks so much for the motivation, Claire. Good luck to all and have fun. I already have.
ReplyDeleteLove that necklace Clairey!
ReplyDeleteIt's always a mission deciding what you have to wear to a certain event. I'm stoked I don't have to worry any more and can just wear home clothes at home, I'm very grateful - LOVE this blog every day in May, it's freaky but I love living on the edge! xxx
ReplyDeleteLooking very stylish there Clairey! Thanks for organising this linkup-I am sure lots of people will join in over the May xx
ReplyDeleteTough job Claire!! But I like the white shirt look, although admittedly I haven't been to work outside of home for so long now I would have NO CLUE what to wear xx
ReplyDeleteSuch an important cause Claire, and love your shirt and necklace. Thanks again for this wonderful challenge x
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a challenge like this, thanks for hosting! I love that necklace as well, no wonder it made you feel better.
ReplyDeleteYou are an amazing lady. I would love to hear more about what you do for work.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! And love your list. :-)
ReplyDeleteI can't blog every day 'cos I am not that clever. But maybe, I will try to comment every day! That's like mini-mini-blogging.
ReplyDeleteLove the elk! Also the idea of blogging every day in May... but won't this year as am scaling back a bit and doing study and still not sure how personal my blog is really (it's only been three years!!)... but will be reading and enjoying others.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this awesome blogging "kick up the bum" idea. It is making me think of more than just the usual sewing & crafting that I put on my blog. Thanks! I will be linking up every day in may!!
ReplyDeleteJos xx
Ooops! I obviously didn't link this right the first time! We're now ten days in - thank you so much for this challenge! I really needed a gentle shove to get me writing again!
