Reminds me of being young (and embracing really bad trends!).
Burn For You, John Farnham - whenever my musician dad had a big night out he'd sing this to mum the next day to apologise.
Turn, Turn, Turn, The Byrds - my dad loved The Byrds, and this was played at his funeral.
Man! I Feel Like a Woman, Shania Twain - this song was playing when my now husband and I first got together. I'd call it embarrassing, but it had actually only just been released and the whole world was Shania-crazy. So really, we were super-cool. (Still are, of course.)
Blackbird, The Beatles - It's. Just. So. Beautiful.

I can think of heaps more! But I'll stop at the magic number five.Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15636757667368447102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3615960162747995029.post-7208070452549929042013-06-01T18:44:44.196+10:002013-06-01T18:44:44.196+10:00I have a bit of a crush on Garth Brooks - my hubby...I have a bit of a crush on Garth Brooks - my hubby has played him over and over for 23yrs.
The Dance is a favourite of mine too.
(hugs)for you remembering your Dad.♥.Trish.♥ Drumboyshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13482654455512269065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3615960162747995029.post-49810667950093676962013-05-30T13:43:16.764+10:002013-05-30T13:43:16.764+10:00Oh, after our school reunion just two weeks' a...Oh, after our school reunion just two weeks' ago, it seems I was a tragic bogan! I finished school a littler earlier than you (late 80s), and Milli Vanilli was all the rage. Luckily, I gave them a wide berth (and knew they were fakes after all), and stuck to my favourites - Jimmy Barnes, INXS, Boom Crash Opera and Johnny Diesel. Ah, live on Australian rock! Some of the music really takes me back. Apparently school tours also remind me of how many boys I kissed by the water bubblers. Yes, there's been many songs and many memories over this way recently ;) xAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09345662692259541964noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3615960162747995029.post-59717843007769141572013-05-30T12:26:19.175+10:002013-05-30T12:26:19.175+10:00Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince! Jeff is my favourite and I love that song so much. It was like a little present unto itself. I love how songs bring so much feeling with them. The best time ever.
Under the Bridge RHCP - reminds me of Year 12 also and the parties.
Young Girl, Gary Puckett - reminds me of my Mum and Dad. Dad always called it his song to Mum.
Cold as Ice, Foreigner - reminds me of now Miss 7 who used to sing in in the car aged about 2. Her lyrics were 'Your a cold-a-face'
I've Had The Time of My Life (dirty dancing) - reminds me of my cousins visiting when I was younger and the fun times we used to have. We loved that movie.
I'm sure I could list heaps more. That's what I love about music; the memories it grasps to. x
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09651116248452404269noreply@blogger.com
