Breast Milk Ice Cream!
Couldnt resist, had to post this one.
It is freaking out the inhabitants of the work stations around me and providing great conversation.
They are freaking out.
Disgusted at the thought.
A specialist ice cream parlour plans to serve up breast milk ice cream and says people should think of it as an organic, free-range treat. The breast milk concoction, called the "Baby Gaga," will be available from tonight at the Icecreamists restaurant in London's Covent Garden. Icecreamists founder Matt O'Connor was confident his take on the "miracle of motherhood" and priced at a hefty 14 pounds (NZ$30) a serving will go down a treat with the paying public... But me, not really so disgusted. If you're an adventurous traveller who tries local cuisine around the world (not so much me as my travel days are limited) than surely this would be one of the easy things to try. It wont make you gag like cows eyes, or sheeps balls. There is no crazy ingredients to make you regret it the next day. It is sweet, good for you and has kiwi strawberries mixed in.
What more could you want in a new food?
Who would be game enough to try it?

OMG no way..what the world coming to.
ReplyDeleteIf it were my own milk used, I might give it a go, but other than that... hmm... no thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteMe? I prefer Maggie Beer.x
ReplyDeleteI would try it, if I knew whose breasts it came from.... but unknowns I dunno.
ReplyDeleteYes, you could say the same about animals but you don't get junkie cows..
Can I put ice magic on it?
ReplyDeleteI'd try it if it was made from my own milk. I have tried my own milk and was just like the left over milk at the bottom of the cereal bowl, all sugary sweet.
Hmm. I don't know. I've not even tried my own milk, so it's doubtful I would want to eat somebody else's.
ReplyDeleteI do love that it's a 'free-range treat', though.
Not at that price LOL , my own breast milk yes but anyone else's not a chance.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was cheap to be honest. I know when ever I expressed I wanted a police escort to get the damn stuff to the fridge.
ReplyDeleteWould I try it...ummm no thanks I just ate.
I think I could try it if it were made from my own breast milk. And it was chocolate flavoured. With chocolate topping. And nuts. And a banana. lol.
ReplyDeleteno way!
ReplyDeletei read about this somewhere recently and could not believe it..I have tried a lot of weird and wonderful foods a long the way but would not be game to try this
I think I prefer my regular vanilla flavour. Call me dull. But in my defence I have eaten snails and octopus ;)
ReplyDeleteNo thanks. I'll have balut anytime.
ReplyDeletewow........
ReplyDeletewow. I would try it, I would. I read the article, as I was interested in whether they used real breast milk. and then did. hmmm. haha, I don't quite know what to think! It's organic...and free-range - that is a selling point. & I like Hiley's point about how it might encourage more mums to breastfeed if they realise how yummy it is. Thanks for this great post!

I love this Claire and read a few months back about a cheese maker who made it from his wife's breastmilk. People gagged and made a fuss. But on further thought, it made so much sense. It's made for us, not like a cow. But yet, we seem to be okay with it.
ReplyDeleteWe're pretty much vegan at my place, but I'd give it a go. I'm eternally curious, and have tried kangaroo and goanna. So, I'm obviously a bit brave ;)
Thanks for posting this. Good food for thought (pun intended). xx
I probably wouldn't because I'm a germaphobe and of the price. I suppose it is pasteurized.
ReplyDeleteI tasted my own milk once and was surprised at how sweet and thin it was. Too me it was like coconut milk. XD
